Mr. Macias received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1997. Mr. Macias is admitted to the State Bars of Indiana, California, and the District of Columbia. Mr. Macias started his legal career at Kaye Scholer, LLP and worked primarily on litigation matters. After leaving that firm, Mr. Macias became General Counsel for an internet company. As General Counsel, Mr. Macias handled a myriad of legal matters ranging from First Amendment matters to Employment Issues. Mr. Macias has litigated several matters of first impression, and actively participated in all business aspects of the web based company. Mr. Macias also was the General Counsel for an online credit card/stored value card company.
In 2003, Mr. Macias joined the law firm of Leader Kozmor Macias LLP. Mr. Macias was a partner and litigated multiple copyright infringement actions at Leader Kozmor Macias LLP before starting his own unique practice, Macias Counsel. Mr. Macias has represented various Los Angeles Nightclubs (Green Door, White Lotus, Ritual, Hollywood Pig’N Whistle, and 10e) in a myriad of legal issues from employment to breach of contract lawsuits. Mr. Macias has represented grieving families in multiple wrongful death actions in California State courts. Mr. Macias represented Ross Department Stores regarding various intellectual property actions.
Mr. Macias has co-authored the articles published in The Advocate entitled, “Motion for Nonsuit – License to Kill in Arbitration?” and “The Sound of Silence – New Limits on Confidentiality May Have Chilling Effect on Settling Sexual Harassment Cases” in August 2018 and 2019. Mr. Macias is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, and is a Representative for the Indiana School of Law Admissions Committee.
